The purpose of endotracheal tubes is to help in the delivery of anesthetic gases or air to and from the patient’s lungs. To keep the patient’s airway open and provide mechanical ventilation, the device is placed through the nose or mouth into the trachea through the larynx. After being inserted into the patient, it is connected through a connector to the anesthetic machine or respirator. The item is only meant to be used once.
